Losing Lowe

Friendswood was fortunate to have Robin Lowe as Principal of Friendswood Junior High for the past 4 years. Due to the flap over the alleged "hate crime" and the lack of support by the FISD Board and Administration, she has requested a transfer out of that position and into "Administration". I'm sure that someone as intelligent, proactive, resourceful, and caring won't stay in "Administration" long. Friendswood's loss will be another District's substantial gain. Remember, Lowe brought FJH up to Exemplary last year; the first time in a long time. But successful Administrators from the "outside" rarely last long in this city. As well-respected as Mrs. Lowe is, there is sure to be a bigger an better challenge for her on the horizon. I'm happy for her and wish her success. She truly cared about the students and taxpayers in FISD. Truly it is our loss.

And the worst part is, the "misinformation" has not been corrected, the bully perpetrator has not been brought to justice, and FJH has no Principal (and school starts in less than 10 weeks, with many activities starting before that)!

The Galveston Daily News covered this story and researched the alleged bullying incident which apparently either didn't occur, or was never documented and never reported to the FBI.

This was an incident of abuse of administrative authority PERIOD. Robin Lowe could have gone through appropriate procedures - but she didn't. Rarely do school admnistrators get "caught" abusing their power. Even more rarely are they punished.

It will a cold day in hell before you find me sympathetic to the arrogant and whimsical school administrators in Friensdwood.

Ms. Kessling

Your "hated" for FISD, it's board, it's adminitrators and staff is well documented.

Sad isn't it that that is what you are known for.

Sad too that you are alone in your feelings.

You are just a sad sad person.

I heard you attended the RightOnline conference this weekend in Austin. I also went and was amazed at the strong conservative grassroots movement in the blogosphere in Texas.

As you may know, Senator Cornyn is running for re-election this year and isn't taking anything for granted. He has been working hard to reach out to conservatives via the internet and just last week sponsored an online campaign called "Energy Independence Days" in which the Senator was joined by national leaders in furthering his energy plan.

I serve as his Internet Director and wanted to reach out to you today to see if you'd be interested in joining our "Bloggers for Cornyn" coalition. Members are invited onto conference calls with the Senator, receive blogger-specific updates, and are listed on our blogroll here:http://www.johncornyn.com/news

we also have buttons you can put on your sidebar.

They are here:

We'd love to have you on board, please let me know if you'd be interested in having us add you.

Thanks,

-Vincent

I graduated from FHS back in the late 80s. Top 5 in my class, went to UIL State in Science and Ready Writing. Double majored in undergrad and got my law degree from Duke. Frankly, I'm happy to leave Friendswood behind me. As one of the few Asians at Friendswood, I experienced a fair amount of racism (from the typical suspects--non-honor students (sort of white-trashy Christian types)). Not surprised at this hubbub. It's an insular small minded community.

PS Didn't know that high school hazing was something I had to report at the FBI.
